Verdugo Home Health has found that many patients need the pain and symptom management that hospice can provide, but the patient is not ready or refused to be under Hospice services.
Palliative Care program is available for patients with advanced disease or life-limiting illness. Patient can continue to receive aggressive treatment such us chemotherapy, radiation and TPN while under Home Health Palliative Care Program.
If the patient decides to continue aggressive forms of treatment, or if they are not ready to accept hospice services, the patient can be referred to Verdugo Home Health and receive services from our Palliative Care Team including our Licensed Palliative Care Medical Director.
Palliative care helps patients and their family members to openly discuss goals of care and make decisions for care toward the end of life.Palliative care has no age restrictions, and can be administered alongside curative treatments.
